Story
We have started this page for Monet. Monet is originally from the East coast and had moved to Colorado on a doctor's recommendation as they could not figure out what was wrong with her. Little did she know how everything was about to unfold. Monet was an outgoing, kind, sweet individual who loved to do photography, artwork, camping, swimming, traveling, walking her dogs and so much more. But, a lot has changed since she has had her accident. She has lost a lot and still can't currently reach out about it yet for legal purposes. This has not done any good for her mental health. Neither had loosing her long green hair she cherished dearly last Christmas. What a lovely present right? Also right before her birthday on December 29th. For her she now expects it to be one thing after another at this point and really has been that way. Even so, Monet trying to search for peace through it all. Some Backstory of what has been going on: Monet has been through so much through this past year since having to move away from family right after her great grandparent's funeral. Her ovary and fallopian tube contorted, scar tissue everywhere and dying inside her for a year telling her at hospitals back home that it was just a muscle spasm. The day after the funeral she headed to Colorado for help and is slowly getting answers to everything that has been wrong with her doctors could not figure out on the East Coast. After the ovary surgery, Monet had a foot surgery to have her pins removed that were moving on her bones for 10 years while doctors continually ignored her about this as well. A few months later coming from a surgery consult for her muscle biopsy she was hit by a car in her wheelchair in the crosswalk, crossing the road to go to her physical therapy. She thankfully able to still have her surgery although she was only able to recently get the results due to the fiasco with the accident she is still dealing with today. (more will be spoken about when she is able to) As of the end of the year she has been diagnosed with Hereditary Angioedema and needs to take IV meds with IVIG plasma transfusions. It is very hard to get to these appointments and we have not found a reliable transportation option for her to easily get to her appointments and uses public transportation. Many times, people target her for being in a wheelchair and has had things stolen even her life alert off her. She did get the life alert button as it could be tracked where it is from her phone. This has been an ongoing issue in Denver, and it has been getting more and more risky being out alone. She always had a wish to have an enclosed wheelchair so she could take her retired service dog for a "car ride" or all terrain wheelchair so she could go places on her own independently further. It would be a real surprise if we could figure out a way to at least make the all-terrain wheelchair happen. But we are simply trying to make her day just a bit brighter and easier that's the goal from using the Give in Kind site. Monet's food bank has also been giving her expired foods or rotten foods and won't know until she gets home and is frustrated since all she currently gets is $23 in food stamps. She has filed an appeal to be able to get the food money she needs. Monet has also been receiving Project Angel Heart meals which helps with at least one meal a day. Things slowly keep piling up for Monet. I know that she'll be appreciative to receive any help while she continues to try and manage everything through her motto "One day at a time" Most of the things on her wish list are things she needs she has currently few little wants so surprises would probably be nice. She has two newfoundland dogs one being her retired service dog Malachite ( aka Mala or Moobiee) her youngest newfie whom is the prospect service dog is Chip ( aka Chippers or Chipperoni) and her kitty cat Kismet (lil butter beans) These are her fur babies she cherishes so if there is anything you want to get them just ask!
Special Notes
Monet is seriously ill right now with everything and severely immune compromised. She mainly goes out for essential needs and appointments. There is little time where she goes out to do things or see anyone is practically never now. Most people she sees are her providers that come to her house and get on video calls with family. I am sure she would love to go live on social media to talk to people as well. ***If you want to send anything PLEASE NOTE MONET'S ALLERGIES: ALLERGIES: Peanuts & ALL Tree Nuts, corn syrup, adhesives
