Story
As many of you know John (Mac) had a stroke on 1/16/25 and was in ICU most of that first week. He suffered paralysis on his entire right side which also affected his speech and right eye. He is now in a regular room waiting insurance approval to be transferred to an Acute Level Rehab Ctr in order to start intensive PT/OT/Speech therapy. We are so grateful for guidance and avenues that have been opened to us for the best Rehab facility close enough for Mom to manage the day to day commutes to be with Dad. We believe her diligent involvement with his daily care is going to be the key to his full recovery which we are already claiming for him. Many of you have reached out and visited offering to send meals and help in any way you can. As you know Mom is the last one to ask anything of others and the first one to give everything she has to others. While meals are simply too much for her to manage right now, as a family we have agreed that gift cards would be an ideal way to show Mom how much each of you love and care for them while we navigate the foreseeable future. After many conversations, Mom has agreed to let us create a link for gift cards. We chose a Visa card specifically because if covers all her potential needs with gas and meals out on her daily trips to see Dad. We feel this will give her independence in being with Dad as well as allow her sweet friends, neighbors and family to love on her in lieu of meals right now since this will be weeks if not months of rehabilitation. We are all so grateful for the love and prayers being offered. Dad is making small improvements daily but the key to his full recovery is getting intensive rehab started as soon as possible. Our prayer is that insurance be approved asap and we can get rehab started as quickly as possible. He is such a fighter, we know God has a purpose in all of this and God will continue to give Dad and Mom the strength to get thru this challenge. In gratitude…John’s (Mac’s ) family! Praying Proverbs 3:5-6!!
