Story
Megan has just finished treatment for stage 4 endometrial cancer. Surgery and chemo, along with prayers and Megan’s sweet attitude made it almost look too easy. A follow up scan said she had beat it. Not one sign of cancer anywhere! We all rejoiced at the news. A few weeks later Megan started having abdominal pain, and her abdomen swelled up to over 48 inches! 7 liters of fluid had to be removed to help her breathe. She couldn’t eat, and weight was dropping daily. A PET scan came back with a new diagnosis: Peritoneal Carcinomatosis. Although it looks horrible when googled ( darn dr google!) there actually is tremendous success with specialized treatment. That is all being planned out and we should have it set up by the end of this week. Meanwhile, Megan is sick. Very sick… Weak… Painful… Trouble sleeping and eating… and you can imagine how stress is adding to her worries. She’s unable to care for herself and her family without help. Her husband used all of his time off during her 1st battle, and is scheduled 50 hour work weeks as a postal worker. That leaves Megan at home with 3 kids~ ages 12, 3, and 18 months. We’ve been blessed with a home schooled teenager coming during the week, but she has other obligations (of course!) and we need more help than we can safely provide. Please look over the calendar and see if there is something you could help us with. Or, maybe you can think of something else. We just need to surround her with support and love right now so her energy is focused on healing. Thank you so much.
