Story
Anderson’s Journey: A Story of Strength, Love & Hope Life can change in an instant. Just a few months ago, Anderson and I were starting our new life together as husband and wife, filled with dreams for our future. But in what felt like the blink of an eye, our world shifted when we learned that Anderson has cancer. What started as persistent discomfort quickly turned into something far more serious. He was rushed into emergency surgery due to severe pleural effusion (fluid buildup in his lungs), spending days in the ICU with a chest tube to help him breathe. Seeing him in so much pain was heartbreaking, but through it all, he has remained so strong. Now, as we prepare for upcoming scans and our first oncology appointment, we are facing the unknown together, hoping and praying for the best path forward. Anderson is one of the most selfless, hardworking, and loving people I know. He would do anything for the people he cares about, and now, as his wife, I want to do everything I can to support him through this fight. But the reality is, cancer comes with so many challenges—not just physically and emotionally, but financially as well. So many people have asked us what we need right now, and honestly, it’s been hard to know how to answer. This journey has been overwhelming, and we’re just taking things day by day. We’re so grateful for the love and support, and while we may not always know exactly what to ask for in the moment, just knowing we have people who care means everything. Whether it’s prayers, words of encouragement, or just checking in, it all makes a difference. Thank you for standing with us through this. Anderson has always been someone who lifts others up, and now he needs a team to lift him up too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, kindness, and support. We are taking this one day at a time, and with faith, strength, and the love of those around us, I know we’ll get through this together. With love, Nicole 💙 #TeamAnderson
Special Notes
Anderson has a severe nut allergy, so we kindly ask that any food or snacks be completely nut-free to keep him safe. We’re also focusing on clean eating to help support his recovery, so healthy, nourishing options are best. Additionally, with his immune system working hard, we need to be extra cautious about exposure to illness. If you’re feeling under the weather or have been around anyone who is sick, we appreciate you waiting until you’re fully well before visiting.
