Newly postpartum, Alex and her family found out that her stage iv cancer had returned. While deciding among treatment options, she decided to pursue a clinical trial. Unfortunately, the medication put her into kidney failure and now, on top of trying to figure out the best way to treat her cancer, Alex and her family are also dealing with managing dialysis three times a week.
