Story
Andrea is my cousin and as many of you know, she's simply incredible. Despite being legally blind due to albinism, she has become a caterer and supplies delicious meals for many of your holidays and special events, especially those that live along the CT shore. As both my Aunt Gin & Uncle Chris have passed away, Andrea is on her own. She works incredibly hard and manages really well. However, in recent years she's suffered some health crisis that would stop any typical person in their tracks - pancreatitis, diabetes, infection, etc. Despite these challenges, Andrea bounced back and was just starting a new partnership when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a survivor myself, I know too well the challenges Andrea is going to face. She would never ask for help or a hand out, but being on her own and self-employed, I'm hoping that Andrea's friends and neighbors will join together to make this difficult situation a little easier. Andrea could use help with financial donations for her upcoming medical bills (she gets no FMLA!) as well as meals and/or meal cards to get her through until she is able to look after herself again. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Andrea's surgery is scheduled for 30 December at Yale-New Haven Hospital. I'll update as frequently as possible regarding her recovery and any special needs that may arise after she returns home (rides to appointments, help with cleaning her apartment, etc.)
Special Notes
Andrea follows a diabetic diet, so it's easiest for her to order meals rather than having meals dropped off, unless you're very familiar with what she can and cannot eat.
