Welcome! This “Loving Valerie” page supports our beloved Valerie as she journeys through breast cancer treatment through 2024. Let’s rally around our Valerie and her daughters to get them to the other side of this journey. Right now, we want to buy them time by helping with food prep, "buddy" time with Valerie, and other items. We will update this page as needs change. While her daughters slimmed down to their basic "skivvies" of outside responsibilities, there is still truly more than they can do together at this time. Time is increasingly precious and far stretched in this season. They truly appreciate your care and support! **The Buddy shifts with Mama Valerie: If available to help, but not the current posted times, can reach out to Tammy at 919-612-8660. When Valerie trends better, we will update the calendar postings. Note from Anna & Amy - From the bottom of our hearts, thank YOU for giving us back some time to help us care for our mama, tend to our self care as we pace this year, and providing some margin to continue working (Anna) and raising kiddos (Amy & her husband David). Special Notes
Due to dietary restrictions, our “meal train” looks a bit different than what you may be used to. In this season, we could really use help with various food prepping, rather than full dishes/meals, although a weekly dish to help feed Amy's crew is helpful! We have a list of some simple items that would be very helpful to have on hand, such as cooking up ground beef/turkey, grilling chicken breasts, or making smashed sweet potatoes. These are SO helpful. We are also discovering mama's nutrition changes almost daily as her taste buds and mouth sores are moving targets. Buddy time with Mama Valerie - someone at her house downstairs, available to help with simply things (between her naps). She is a delight and easy, rain or shine, as you all know!
