Story
Our beloved mother, Shawna, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma. The cancer has spread rapidly, with: 8 tumors in her brain, including one on her brain stem Masses throughout her body, including her lungs, liver, kidneys, and hip We're still reeling from the shock of this diagnosis, which we received on February 27th after rushing her to the hospital, thinking she was having a stroke. Our world has been turned upside down, and we're struggling to come to terms with the limited time we have left with her. As a family, we're rallying around her to provide love, care, and support during her remaining days. We're exploring all options to ensure she receives the best possible care, and we're hoping to secure Medicaid financing to cover her hospital expenses. However, we still need your help. Some of us have had to miss work to be with her, and any financial support will help alleviate some of the burden. Your contribution will assist with: Home care and support services to ensure our mother's comfort and well-being Travel and accommodation expenses for family members to visit and care for her Any additional expenses not covered by Medicaid If you're unable to donate financially, we welcome any other form of support. Whether it's cooking meals, helping with errands, or simply being a listening ear, all help is good help. Please reach out to us if you'd like to contribute in a different way. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers. They mean the world to us during this difficult time. With heartfelt gratitude, Netalia shawnas eldest and family
Special Notes
Visitation Guidelines We welcome visitors once we're settled into a more comfortable room. Currently, our mom is in the ER, and we appreciate your patience. Dietary Preferences Some family members are sensitive to dairy (specifically milk). I personally follow a gluten-free diet and am also sensitive to cinnamon, onions, and bananas. Please consider these dietary restrictions if bringing food or treats. Bringing Joy to Mom Photos bring her joy! Feel free to bring pictures of special memories or loved ones to brighten her day. She also loves Mickey Mouse, unicorns, frogs, and crystals - so any gifts or decorations featuring these themes are sure to bring a smile!
