Story
My name is Samuel Parish, and I am currently a high school mathematics teacher in Dallas, Texas. I recently was diagnosed with Grade 3 Stage 2 Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer). I underwent surgery and had my left kidney removed to get rid of the cancer. I was on medical leave from work for 2 months to recuperate, and during that time, I did not have income. With God's grace, mercy, and healing, I was able to return to work. However, while out sick, I generated a massive amount of bills and am overwhelmed. I am behind on rent, medical bills, utilities, phone, transportation, etc. I do not have a vehicle, so I rely on public transportation to get to and from work and my doctor's appointments, which also require a copay each time that I cannot afford. These appointments are vital to me staying cancer-free. I am humbly asking for your support to stay afloat until I may truly get back on my feet and be the best teacher I can be for my students. I am alone in Dallas with no family, so it is very important and healing to see my family sometimes during the year when I am able. Rent=$3075.50 Public Transportation=$375 (monthly bus pass + uber to and from doctor's appointments). Doctor's Copays (Specialist)=$280 Sonogram of the right kidney=$300 CT Scan with and without contrast=$500 Phone=$340 Utilities=$125
