Story
I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in August 2024. I found it via a routine mammogram and was completely shocked. Although it was early stage (1B), TNBC is particularly aggressive and more difficult to treat long-term because they don't know what makes it grow. After many doctor searches and tests of every sort, I landed on Johns Hopkins and had a lumpectomy in December 2024. By the time I went into surgery, the cancer had grown from 1cm to nearly 4cm and changed my status to Stage 2. All in all, still early and treatable with no other cancer detected in my lymph nodes or body. Taylor was here to help with my recovery. I began chemotherapy/radiation treatments which I've termed my Road-To-August Friday, February 7th which was quite an experience. I'll be writing about that to share later. I've realized that I won't be able to do the work I need to do, and as a self-employed person, that means I have fewer income sources. Although I am still accepting projects, so send any writing or research gigs my way. It's very difficult and humbling to be on this side of the health journey. Family and Friends have been so wonderful to me during this time, and I don't want to burden or overtax them. So I realize that I'll need more help in my goal is to heal, stay healthy and live long enough to continue to help others however I can. I'm sharing this with my trusted friends and loved ones, not publicly. Thank you for caring and sharing. Love you all.
Special Notes
I am working to cover living and transportation expenses through this journey so funds will be very helpful.
