Story
On April 17th Lindy went in for double knee replacement surgery with Dr. Bowen at the Kootenay Health Hospital in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. It was a big decision that has taken a long time to get to, but after multiple visits with Dr. Bowen, Lindy felt ready. She's also been spending the last 6 months consciously preparing herself. She's done over 100 days of morning gratitude pages, meditation, and communicating with her body. We were so impressed and honestly deeply touched by the care, kindness, warmth and amazing professionalism all the staff at the hospital. Lindy spent most of this time chatting it up with the nurses and keeping the vibe high. Her surgery went just as planned, and now she has two brand new bionic knees. She spent the first night in the hospital and was very perky. Around 3pm the next day the nerve blockers began to wear off and the shock/pain to her nerves was pretty intense. So many in our community have held Lindy in their prayers, and we are so grateful for this support. Its at times like these when prayer and love matter the most. While I was in and out of the hospital supporting the process- I felt the wave of love surrounding and holding us. This showed up as so much goodness all around my mom, a perfectly performed surgery, and so far Lindy feeling very connected to hope, deep peace, calm, and trust. Thank you all so much!!! We are now at day three and the road to recovery will be slow but steady. Its also going to be intense. Getting both knees done at the same time- requires extra mental fortitude and will. The doctors said that recovery is 97% attitude and encouragement. Physiotherapy is as much about repatterining the neural network as it is to strengthen and mobilize. This is a time that if she can meet well, and establish a new range of motion and strength that will beneficially impact the rest of her life. We will return to Nelson on Sunday 21st for R & R in her cabin there. I am putting out a support call for my beautiful mom Lindy. In the next few weeks any and all support, love, and encouragement will make a huge difference for her. We will need some extra helping hands to run errands, bring her to physio appointments, and have short visits. More in how you can offer love and support is explained in this page. -Blessings & So Much Gratitude, Robin
Special Notes
Lindy would love to have visitors but also know ahead of time when people are coming. A good time for her is in the afternoon. Anything from .... Love, encouragement, support, positive vibes, light delicious meals, flowers, a walk around the land, a drive to Nelson, picking up groceries, or a gift card to Kootenay Co-op. She may need some help around the house and just knowing that additional friends are coming will help her meet the evolving and hopefully improving challenge of recovery. She is eating very simple and would welcome lite meals and snacks. She is right now GF, onion & garlic free.
