Story
As a small loving community let's help they Haley's as they are always doing so much for our community. Kate Pike will be setting a cooler by the front door for days where the family just needs rest and not have to worry about entertaining guest. Please read the following from Brianna Haley as she posted last night what is happening with Ayden Haley (Bubba Goose to those who are close). Never in a million years did I ever think I would have to write the words I’m about to. Jason and I have gone back and forth about posting anything, but there have been a lot of rumors at school and we just want to put some things to rest for both of the boys to make it somewhat easier for them moving forward. As some of you know, Ayden had had some significant lymph nodes on his neck since September. We went to the Drs and ENT several times and have been fighting with insurance about a scan that ultimately saved Aydens life. Saturday night we took him to the Littleton ER because he wasn’t himself and had some pain that was not normal for him. The ER Dr was AMAZING and basically did what we needed someone to do in a matter of minutes. He ordered a CT Scan- it instantly showed that Aydens left chest cavity was full of liquid. They made arrangement for us to be directly admitted to CHaD at Dartmouth. Since we have been here our boy has been in remarkably good spirits and continues to be. We have been here since Saturday night. On Monday Ayden had a biopsy done and chest tube put in. So far about 5 liters of fluid has been removed which equates to about 10lbs. His results came in today, while we knew it wasn’t going to be good news, it wasn’t the result we were hoping for and he requires more testing. With that being said- what we do know is that Ayden has T-Cell lymphoblast lymphoma or luekemia. We won’t know which one until he has a spinal tap and bone marrow test tomorrow and the results come back. He will also get his first dose of Chemo which should dry up the fluid in his chest and allow him to get his chest tube removed. We will be in the hospital for at least another week and a half to two weeks. Today has been the hardest day of our lives, but we know our Bubba Goose will continue to be the fighter he’s always been and come out on top.
