Life has been throwing one challenge after another at me, and I’ve reached a point where I have to ask for help—something I never thought I’d need to do. I’m a mom doing everything I can to create a better future, but I’ve been struggling to make ends meet. My son lives in another state with his father, and due to custody arrangements, it’s been incredibly difficult to be as present in his life as I want to be. On top of that, affording a lawyer to fight for more time with him feels like an impossible goal right now. I’m working two jobs while also attending school full-time, trying to build a foundation for a better future, but it still isn’t enough to cover rent, food, and basic necessities. On top of that, my partner has faced serious health issues this past year, leaving them unable to work. He also has two children that come into over every week and that adds to the stresses of groceries and things for them as well. Despite my best efforts, bills are piling up, and I’m afraid we might lose the roof over our heads. I’ve poured every ounce of energy into keeping things afloat, but the stress and worry have taken a toll on my mental health. I just want to be able to provide a stable, loving home and have the means to stay involved in my son’s life.
