Let's support, love and encourage the Matters as they undergo this medical journey. In July of 2024, Kate was diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory invasive ductual carcinoma breast cancer. July was a whirlwind for the entire family, numerous tests were performed along with many appointments. Together we grieve with them as their entire life has been upheaved knowing when treatment begins their day to day will be even more challenging and unpredictable. Kate's treatment will include chemotherapy, bilateral mastectomy and radiation. These next few months are expected to be difficult which has forced Kate to take a step away from work while she undergoes chemotherapy. We have created this page as a place for Kate and Alex's loved ones to come along aside them with meals, financial support and practical help. As treatment progresses we will use this page to communicate updates and tangible needs for the family. We understand providing updates and replying to inquiries might become overwhelming to Kate and Alex as the weeks progress so we hope we can communicate those updates and needs in one central location to ease their load. Of course there is a lot more to this journey then meals and financial needs. We also invite you to join us as we pray for the Matters. This journey has been emotionally draining. Some days the amount of information they've needed to process has been very overwhelming and scary. We take comfort knowing that Kate's in God's loving hands. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged" -Jessica
