Story
Hi everyone. I want to start out by telling you that my sister, Linda, and my sister-in law, Meg, have created this site so that I can keep everyone up to speed about my cancer. I was diagnosed April 4th with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer, which has spread to my liver. I have a team of doctors from Froedtert Hospital as well as the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, who are working together. While it is not curable, it IS treatable and my test results so far are great. I have already begun my chemotherapy. As of right now I will need twelve sessions, every other Monday. I go into the clinic on my scheduled Monday, receive my chemo, and then return home with a pouch that continues the chemo distribution for another two days. My neighbor, Joanie, calls it "Chemo as I go." On Wednesday of that week, the pouch is removed. I am then off for 11 days. I feel very positive and upbeat; I will kick cancer's ass. I have so many supporters around me. My family is great and my friends and neighbors have been fantastic to both Tim and myself. God has a plan and he is at my side, along with my Dad and Mother in heaven, as well as all of my Guardian Angels. I am a fighter, and as you know, I don't give up. I will use this site to post updates so that you can all be aware of what is going on, and it also saves me from individually texting and calling. I need a good deal of rest. Tim and I appreciate all of your prayers and kind positive thoughts. Please keep them coming as we take on this journey. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart: I truly appreciate everything. NOW LET'S KICK CANCER'S ASS. Love, Peggy and TIm
Special Notes
There are links on the site for ways that you can help. 1. Meals every Tuesday. Our needs may vary week to week, so please contact us the weekend prior if you have signed up or we will try and post in the notes. Food only needs to feed two, and my appetite is small at the moment. 2. Visits during chemo with a ride home. Every other Monday. This schedule and timing may change after I have a few more sessions. Will update the calendar accordingly. 3. Help in the yard and garden as the weather gets warmer and planting can take place.
