Story
Hello Friends and Family! We wanted to create a space where we could update loved ones on Michael’s cancer journey. We first wanted to say thank you to everyone! The amount of support we have received over this last month has been beyond our wildest imagination. Our family feels so loved and touched by everyone who has called, texted, sent cards, and care packages. We talk about how we are surrounded by the best friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers every day. We are extremely grateful for the thoughts and prayers. As many now know, Mike was diagnosed with T cell precursor leukemia last month. A couple months prior to his diagnosis he was having some shortness of breath and felt some swollen lymph nodes which prompted blood work. From there everything moved quickly to get him to Moffitt. He was admitted to Moffitt for a few weeks to start his “induction chemotherapy” which he completed like a champ. Last week we met with the head oncologist at Moffitt who is putting together Michael’s treatment plan. He received a port and will start the next phase of chemotherapy next week as we try to get his cancer undetectable. He will be getting chemo 3-4 days a week up at Moffitt. Once undetectable he will go through with the bone marrow transplant. After the transplant he will resume treatment to make sure that the cancer is gone. We ask for prayers for Michael’s strength as he starts this next 8 weeks of chemotherapy. For those wanting to join the bone marrow registry, you can join by going to bethematch.com. We are also participating in miles for Moffitt virtually for those who want to participate. Miles for Moffitt | Moffitt. We love you all. Michael, Kelly, and Elle Warren
