Help Mel Battle Colon Cancer

Morgan City, LA

Story

By now you probably know I, Melanie Voll, was diagnosed with what we thought was Stage 1 colon cancer in February of this year(now Stage III) and had colon resection surgery at the end of the month. What we didn't expect was that in e early March, we were told that there were cancer cells in one of my lymph nodes which will require chemotherapy at Thibodaux Regional Cancer Center. Upon discovering that I needed chemo, we also found out that I had an infection in my incision resulting in the need for in office wound care 3 days a week and heavy antibiotics for 10 days. Yesterday(3/25) we found bout the cancer center doesn't take my insurance and waiting for the referral to a better one(God knows what he's doing) with that. My job which I started cannot be done remotely(thanks Medicaid changes in 2022) and the population I work with poses a risk to me going to be immune suppressed so I am on leave without pay currently. Work adminstration and myself along with David don't feel I can do my current job which is being held while I recover. So here comes the part I hate to ask, bills are starting to be something that need help with as well as daily expenses especially with gas going up and traveling to treatments. David actively job searching when I got diagnosed but due to having to be my full time caregiver, this was obviously put on hold and y'all know disability benefits don't go far. If you can't donate directly, please share. I'm ready to get back to being healthy and cancer free. Side note check your : And if you're not actively looking at your , you're weird. Please be proactive and get checked, a colonoscopy at almost 43 saved my life. I am currently applying for as many grants as I can but most requires your doctor(oncologist) to refer you.
