Living like Lee (helping others ❤️)

Kissimmee, FL

Story

I want to thank Kelly for starting this page for me. I have never felt so loved and supported by friends family coworkers, strangers and acquaintances that I feel even closer to know I would consider you all family. In June I felt a lump in my breast and it took months for me to advocate for myself and get the doctors to do a biopsy in November, to confirm it was cancer. Definitely not what I wanted to hear, would have loved for it to have been a fatty tumor/ cyst that they expected it to be, but my gut and my brain told me otherwise, and it was right. November 4 I started chemotherapy, 6 cycles of heavy duty chemo that comes with all the side effects, followed by surgery radiation and then finish the year with maintenance chemo. Everyone has been so supportive be it making shirts to show their support for me, donating money, making dinners, helping keep my two boys busy with play dates, relaxation gifts like pillows, blankets, bath spa kits, anti-nausea candies or medicines and a bag with blankets and stuff to keep me busy during my 5 hours of chemo in the infusion center or even just those text to get updates on how I'm doing. It has all been so sweet and I am forever grateful. Mind over matter, in the beginning I definitely felt stress over how I was going to make this work with an already full plate, full time mom, caregiver, nurse, spouse.... but you all have made this so much better by being so thoughtful. The biggest help has been with the kids/ meals. Day 2 or 3 of chemo/ the week after, my appetite, and drive to do anything with food is pretty difficult so arranging a food train, or donating for door dash, so if Vinnie or I cant cook we can still order some of the kids favorites. Thank you again for your love, support, well wishes, and prayers, it is all extremely appreciated and I just hope one day I can give back to you all like you have for me. I just can't express how much I love you all and am so grateful. <3

Special Notes

The family has no food allergies and luckily the boys will pretty much eat anything.
