We are starting this page to provide community support for the Leister family as they navigate Charley's battle with Aicardi. Charley is a member of Mrs. Ames’ morning pre-K class. She has a condition called Aicardi Syndrome which causes seizures as well as developmental and cognitive delays. Unfortunately, she hasn't been able to attend many days of school this year because she's had to have several surgeries. Just before Christmas, she had brain surgery to try to help control her seizures, and then a week after being released, she had to be admitted again with RSV, strep throat and pneumonia.
