Story
As many of you know, Danielle Laborde’s mom recently underwent a full hip replacement surgery that unfortunately resulted in serious complications. During the procedure, her femur was fractured, and post-surgery it was discovered that her sciatic nerve was pinched by the surgical wire. This has caused severe nerve damage, and her mom currently has no feeling or movement in her leg and foot. She has since undergone a second surgery, had a metal plate added to stabilize the fracture, and has now been transferred to a rehabilitation hospital for a minimum two-week stay. Her recovery will be long, uncertain, and challenging, especially as they wait to see whether any feeling or control returns to her leg. Danielle has been holding everything together with such strength and grace, but the reality is—she now finds herself not only raising her sweet son and pursuing her Master’s degree, but also stepping into the role of caregiver for both her mom and her grandmother, who her mom had been taking care of before the surgery. Anyone who knows Danielle and her family knows they are the first to show up with a hot meal ora helping hand, when someone else is in need. They are a loving, giving, and deeply rooted family who would never ask for anything—but this is our chance to be there for them. Let’s help lift a little of the load by providing meals so Danielle can focus on what matters most: being there for her mom, her son, and her family during this difficult time. Whether you’re near or far, a homemade meal, takeout delivery, gift card, or kind message will go a long way. Thank you for loving this family the way they have always loved others.
Special Notes
There is a gift card/delivery option while Sandy is in the rehab center and then around the 21st to add meal drop off.
