Story
For the past 3 years, I’ve been battling with how to best treat my adenomyosis. Unfortunately things have gotten progressively worse over this time, and despite a procedure I quietly had earlier in the year, it’s become clear that this has to be managed in a specific way. So, on 11/22 I’ll have a robotic hysterectomy. In transparency, this outcome is so bittersweet. I don’t think I’ll ever be “ready” but I am trusting this timing. I’ve pulled together a list of things (see care calendar below) that I think may spark joy in the weeks following my surgery and I hope I’ll be able to spend time with you as I recover.
Special Notes
Notes for meals - I don’t drink cow’s milk but really enjoy oatmilk for lattes. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I enjoy standard fare - eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. I typically pick places like Cava, Flowerchild, Chipotle, Jimmy John’s and Sweetgreen for lunch - a good mix of veggies and protein is perfect. Typically I have either a grain bowl, salad or a sandwich with chips. For dinner, I’m in the same vein but usually will add in carbs, which my nutritionist would have talking points for. I enjoy a good cacio e pepe or bolognese. I also like NYC style pizza, all things Asian, and Mediterranean and Mexican. My stomach has been a bit questionable and more than likely will be while I’m on medication so I’m keeping things pretty light - chicken/fish/seafood and not fried or heavily oily/greasy or super spicy.
