Story
Our entire world was flipped upside down after receiving news about Danny's diagnosis. Two weeks ago, Danny noticed sudden changes in his vision of which started to interfere with his ability to complete simple, day-to-day tasks. After meeting with his general practitioner, he was referred to Regions for an MRI. To our complete and absolute shock, Danny's MRI revealed concern for a high grade brain tumor that required immediate resection. All in a single week, Danny met with neurosurgeons, had several doctors appointments and MRI scans, and underwent a craniotomy of which resected 90% of his tumor. After surgery, the preliminary pathology report diagnosed Danny with a primary, grade 4 glioma -- a type of brain cancer that requires aggressive treatment. In the coming weeks, a treatment plan will be implemented in hopes of helping Danny continue to heal from surgery, manage and shrink the remaining tumor via radiation and chemotherapy, as well as select a clinical trail to best attack the remaining cancerous cells in his brain. While much remains unknown, we do know this cancer requires an intensive approach-- multiple neuro-oncology appointments, visits to local specialists, as well as ongoing consultation with top treatment institutions for cancer research outside of MN. For this reason, and with the support of friends and family, Danny and Molly have momentarily stepped away from their jobs to fully dedicate themselves to creating a solid plan to fight back. If there's anything we've taken away from this, it's just how valuable friends and family are during times like this. We are all so grateful for the outpouring of love and support. Please check back for updates and other ways you can support Danny and Molly.
