Story
Hello family and friends! Thank you for being part of my life and my cancer recovery. I feel confident that my cancer has been caught early and I'll have a full recovery from this surgery. If you're not familiar with the phrase in my title, here's a highlight reel from "The Marvelous Mrs. Mazel". (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqpZSIbZyeo) I feel like the line is a word of encouragement to stand strong in times of stress - and quite fitting in this situation. My surgery will be on Dec. 6 - the day before my mom's 90th birthday. So my first ask is that you might send her a birthday card to mark this milestone. Dena Ward, 1925 Bellingrath Gardens, Conway AR 72034. My second ask is that you consider coming to visit/hang out/bring or send me food/take me on a slow walk/send me the name of a funny movie or TV show or interesting book (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BMmoDnnn6yLA1-46vu1Ie3Zzs5dLgJEQbGxtLdWuzUM/edit?usp=drive_link) during my recovery. I'll be out/off work for at least a month - over my mom's birthday and Christmas. On top of the stress of not being able to be there for my mom on her birthday and over the holidays, my company is in the middle of a merger. I'm going to try to do some work while I am on FMLA, but we will see how these things go in the new year. My third ask, is that you don't share my diagnosis or information without discussing with me first. Many things about this journey are outside of my control. The who I tell, when I tell them, what I tell them - should remain in my control. I welcome your prayers, good thoughts and healing vibes! And I'm grateful for you! Love, Mica
