Story
We can all agree that cancer sucks; especially when it happens to such an awesome person. My mom was coughing for a few months and, after a bunch of tests, it turns out enlarged lymph nodes blocking her airways were to blame. Donna was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. After a few more tests it was determined she would need chemotherapy every 3-4 weeks for 6 rounds, which is starting on January 8th. We don’t know exactly how she will feel through the treatment, but she is already pretty wiped out. The Dr. said post chemo she should expect a week of being knocked out, a week of crappy side effects, and a week of finally feeling better just in time to do it again. I will do my best to keep everyone updated through here as we navigate this process. Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Special Notes
Many of you have asked, "How can I help?" and we are so incredibly grateful. Honestly, we don't know yet when Donna will be up for eating or what she will want, but I set up a meal option every other day to offer Donna a meal from you or a gift card so she can choose something to be delivered. I will modify this request calendar once we know how she's feeling. What she will need for sure are help picking up groceries, help around the house (https://www.tidy.com/gifts#buy-gift) and some soothing care items. If you'd like to contribute to those items there is an option on the calendar (for grocery pick up) or items on her wishlist (like the Tidy gift card for home cleaning services!) Thank you all, again. My mom has the most amazing family, friends, and community!
