Meal Train for Kris’ Lumbar Fusion Recovery

Bay City, MI

Story

The next year of my life consists of three (very scary) major surgeries. Due to degenerative arthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, scoliosis, and spondylolisthesis, I am struggling to walk and the pain has become unmanageable. I am having a lumbar fusion (L3/L4 & L4/L5) with rods, screws, and spacers on April 17. My right knee replacement is scheduled for September 9, and the left knee replacement will be a few months later. I am told that after my back surgery, I will not be allowed to bend, twist, or sit at a 90 degree angle for approximately three months. Who knows when I will be able to perform music at the assisted living home or make it upstairs to my studio to stream or record music again. Singing and playing music is a huge stress reliever for me, but everything seems to be up in the air at this time. Any help with meals will really reduce our stress. I am requesting one meal a day for the first two weeks post-op. I will reassess the situation once I am home recovering. Anyway, thanks so much for listening to my woes and for helping out if you can. Kari and I appreciate your support very much.

Special Notes

We are pretty low carb… no sugar or flour or inflammatory oils… only whole grains (wild rice, quinoa, oats, wheat berries, etc.), proteins, dairy, veggies, fruits, legumes, nuts & seeds, healthy fats (avocado, olive, coconut oil, grass fed butter, etc.) unprocessed, as much as possible. I know it’s a lot to ask.
