Baby Mesritz Love Train

Williams, OR

Story

On the equinox, March 19 at 5:08 am, the Mesritz family welcomed a baby girl, Eleonora, into the world. It was a beautiful, powerful, (and fast!) water birth at home and mama and baby are both healthy and settling in to life together. During this fourth trimester the family is focused on bonding with their new addition and recovery and restoration for Rebecca. Your support with meals and some physical support is so deeply appreciated during this slow and sacred time. If you are able to offer physical support, there are a few things they’d love help with: folding laundry, dishes (washing or putting away), wiping down surfaces in the kitchen, sweeping or vacuuming anywhere are the main ones. They also welcome any love and connection time offered to Raewyn. She’s just in love with her baby sister, but has big 5 year old energy that is hard to match right now. Taking her on an adventure, a walk, arts and crafts, or just reading to her would mean the world to her! If you have some time to support with house care or Raewyn love, please sign up for that week and text Rebecca to arrange specifics.

Special Notes

We are omnivores and prefer to eat organic, pastured, nutritionally dense, whole foods. Our favorite recipe guides are “The First Forty Days” (Chinese and Ayurvedic) and “Nourishing Traditions” (Weston A.Price style diet). That said, we are so grateful for any meal cooked with love! We have a few dietary restrictions to be aware of. Jonah can’t do dairy and we don’t love most nondairy cheese so please kindly leave cheeses out of dishes. We’re good with nut and oat milks and cheese on the side is great (Rebecca likes)! Beans are a bit hard for all of us to digest. We avoid gluten, preferring rices, polenta, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and gf alternatives. Casseroles, soups, stews, and things that freeze and/or reheat easily are very much appreciated. Breakfast items are also great (quiche, etc.,) as they make mornings easy. Raewyn doesn’t love spicy and we have loads of hot sauces here so please keep seasonings mild. We love bone broths, lots of cooked veggies, easy, throw together bowls, and meats of all kind. Nourishing teas and not too sweet sweets are also welcome! 🥰 We can’t wait to introduce you all to Eleonora! And… it may not happen on your visit/ food drop off. We are still quite insulated and very sleepy, so please be patient as we nest and rest. We will emerge soon enough! When you come, we’d very much appreciate thorough handwashing on arrival and please no sick visitors. Drop off food any time 2-5:30pm (we usually eat dinner at 6). Feel free to come in the house and leave food in fridge or on the stove or counter. Just shoot Rebecca a text when you are on your way. Please label your dishes so we can get them back to you. Thank you so much!! We are so deeply grateful for your love and support.
