Story
Friends, family, and community, In October of 2022, Rees was diagnosed with stage four metastatic cancer. He is meeting this challenge as best he can, and we are on a mission to keep the cancer dormant for as long as possible. Life offers no guarantees, and with that in mind, Rees and all of us are focused on living our lives with courage and quality. The necessary treatments for this type of cancer impact Rees' energy levels and quality of life significantly, and sometimes we have been struggling more than usual to keep up with our homestead's needs and keep our chins up. Sharing this and asking for connection and support is humbling and vulnerable. Through the years, Rees has always worked hard to do what he can to meet the wide-ranging needs of our little family when it comes to maintaining our house and the land. Whether renovating or maintaining our home, tending to the land, gathering and chopping firewood, making meals for the family, bringing laughter with his silliness, or his continued striving in his career as a fine artist, he is a wonderful and strong dad and person. Even the strongest and most capable need help sometimes. This Give InKind account is where we will be sharing online about this journey and where we will reach out for support. If you create a Give InKind account and click on updates, you can see the most current information about how things are going for Rees and our family. Thank you for caring about us. 💗 Abigail, Rees, Animae, & Maebon
