As most of you know, Mom and Dad's (Phyllis and Al's) home of 53 years, was lost on November 6th in the California Mountain Fire. This home was where they built their lives and family. It was the place of our childhood memories, countless family holidays, reunions, BBQ's, and gatherings. Mom and Dad hosted bible studies and ministered to so many people in this home. Our home was truly a home to ALL! It was a light on a hill and a sanctuary of peace. Thankfully, Mom and Dad were evacuated safely and are doing well! The home was destroyed in the fire, however their beautiful yard remains and by a miracle of God, their wedding album and a few other treasured items were spared. They remain grounded in their faith in God and thankful to everyone that has reached out to provide guidance, support, donations and help as they navigate the beginning stages of rebuilding their lives and home. Mom and Dad have found a temporary rental home and we hope to have them moved in by November 19th. They remain positive, joyful and grateful every day. We know God is literally bringing beauty from the ashes! To all the wonderful family, friends, neighbors, community and church families at New Life and SCF, our family doesn't have the words to express our deep gratitude. So many have reached out to support Mom and Dad after the fire. We are so touched by your prayers, sincere concern, generosity and help navigating so many decisions each day! To the many families in our neighborhood community that were affected by the fires, we extend our heartfelt condolences for your loss, as well as our prayers. To the firefighters and first responders that helped evacuate Mom and Dad and even went above and beyond to grab some of our family photos before the house burned, thank you!!!
