Story
Our precious mom was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia this morning, very unexpectedly. What started as a “bacterial infection” at urgent care on Sunday has now turned into an emergency admittance to CMC Main to begin chemotherapy immediately. She has now had three rounds of chemo and is working hard to raise her low blood cell count in order to receive a blood transfusion as soon as possible. She has been prepared to be in the hospital for months. Unfortunately, due to the severity of this diagnosis, she is NOT ALLOWED visitors besides family at this time. When this changes, we will let everyone know. Please be mindful of calling and messaging her over these next few days. She may not be able to get back to everyone individually but please know how thankful we are for all of the kind words and encouragement. She is also not allowed any flowers on this cancer unit so as much as she would love to see them, they can be very dangerous for her health. Instead, we ask that you put that money towards donating to meals and medical bills since she has no health insurance. We’ve started a PayPal and Venmo specifically for her. Gift cards for restaurants, gas, flights, etc will be greatly appreciated as the family will be traveling back and forth from home to the hospital.
