Story
The past seven months have been full of ups and downs to say the least. For those who don’t know Pam was diagnosed with stage 3/4 breast cancer in September, she quickly began a mega dose of Chemo!! In January as she was given her third kind of medication she developed a rare side effect, the chemo attacked her lungs causing toxicity, while she was assisting in every way possible and could barely breathe (20 % lung function) she prayed and talked to God. She prayed for a miracle but also looked forward to meeting Jesus if it was her time. She received her Miracle and began healing, breathing on her own, she learned to walk again, bath, use her phone, help with some of Brent’s care and live. However due to this reaction there will be no more Chemo. Things started looking up when everyone got hit with influenza A, everyone (all of the help) as we laid around embracing our fevers and cough’s Pam decided to take it a step further and require a hospital stay and Brent one up’s everyone and goes for an ICU stay. Also for those that don’t know, Pam has been Brent’s sole caregiver for over 40 years after an accident left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. As Pams health has been a rollercoaster the past few months Brent’s health has also been declining and recently spent almost a week in the ICU. To say we are exhausted is an understatement but now we prepare for the next Cancer step!! Finally a surgery date, April 23. Pam will have a double Mastectomy and come home to recover once again.
