Story
As all of you know, Bobbi took a spill on 12/18 and broke her back and wrist. She had two surgeries on 12/24 - spinal fusion to insert two 6-inch rods and 8 screws plus orthopedic to set the two broken bones in her wrist. After what both were hailed as successful procedures, she spent a few more days recuperating in the hospital before being transferred to Spaulding Rehab in Sandwich. While she's made herculean progress at Spaulding, she was transferred to Liberty Commons in Chatham on Sunday, 1/12 to continue her rehab until she is ready to go home. This will be a long and arduous journey and it's our hope that with the help of her community of love, we can make that journey as positive as possible so that she can get back to enjoying life with family and friends.
Special Notes
Now that she is settled in, here's how how you can help. While therapy is important to improve her physical abilities, we know that social interaction (especially for Bobbi!) nourishes the spirit. We'd love for family and friends to visit but to avoid conflicts with therapy sessions and visitor overlap, we've created a visitor schedule. There are slots for general visits plus options to join her for meals. If you choose a meal time, plan to bring a brown bag meal to enjoy with her. Thanks for showering her with love and support. And, it probably goes without saying, but if you are feeling ill, it's best to delay your visit. Once she's home, we'll continue this page so that she gets the same social interaction at home.
