Story
Story by Celina Stephens (I created this page to have a central hub of support. Please follow so I can thank you now and later.) Our family was blessed with a 3rd child in October 2023. I was happily breastfeeding baby boy for a few months, when I noticed a little lump. I thought it may be a clogged milk duct, but after the regular hot packs didn't help, I reached out to my doc. Right away they suggested I get a mammogram, which is my first ever because I'm still under 40. The next week a biopsy, the next week we are sitting in an office, hearing the diagnosis is cluster of abnormal cells, with a growth rate of 90%, very aggressive. Thankfully, I have been dedicated to meditation, prayer, and breathing exercises during this pregnancy. I got to use all of my skills, at the same time, while we were tagging pages of a heavy info binder, and choosing oncologists. TJ had to remind me to use the breathing exercises at some point of the meeting with the nurse navigator. I had no fear in my heart, I only had faith that I will be well at the end of this wild and crazy ride! Sometime after hearing the diagnosis, we were driving and saw a full rainbow, end to end!! This to me, was a beautiful sign that God's plan is not to destroy with the storm, but to wash away what needs to be removed, to lighten the load. We believe in the power of God and of the Universe to provide guidance and healing. The sweetest first word from baby boy came at the perfect time. I was ready to chop my hair and moments after, Santi look right at me and he said "mama"! What a beautiful moment! Even as we are headed into stormy weather, we can choose to smile and appreciate our unique perspective on this beautiful life!
