Virginia Bacon post-surgery support

Bellevue, WA

Story

Hello Friends! As most of you know, Virginia experienced a major medical emergency in January resulting in a colostomy bag and brought her back to Seattle from California for supported care. Thankfully, the doctors here are able to reverse the surgery and get her back in one piece, minus a few gnarly scars. The surgery is on July 11th, so we have set up this page to enlist the help and support one more time for Virginia’s repair surgery recovery. According to the doctors, recovery will take 3-6 weeks. Virginia lives alone with her dog, Cole and her cat, Whiskers. We are asking for help with walking the dog (he’s very sweet!) and meals/groceries that require very little prep. She hasn’t worked since she got sick last summer, so additional help with gift cards for medical supplies and other household necessities would be great! She will be mostly in bed the first week or two with very limited mobility after that. Also, she loves company, so please feel free to also come by and say hi, give a hug, bring a coffee, or just send a text to let her know you’re thinking about her! Here is a reminder of her journey through the GoFundMe page. https://gofund.me/e75c796d Amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/dl/invite/hEkOpWC?ref_=wl_share

Special Notes

She will need to stay on a relatively low fiber diet for the first few weeks and is only one person with one fridge/freezer. Low fiber means no leafy greens, whole grains, corn, beans, brown rice, raw veggies or veggies with skin on. She has been (for better or worse) eating white rice, pasta, white/sourdough bread, fruit, a lot of protein, and dairy.
