Story
My brother Aj is a thirty year old man who is need of help from the community. Recently he underwent a Enucleation is the surgical removal of the entire eyeball leaving behind the lining of the eyelids and muscles of the eye, due to complications of a bacterial infection. He still has to get the insert put in so his hole doesn't close so he can get a glass eye after he heals up.This was all caused by an autoimmune disease known as Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy. (CIDP) is a slowly developing autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the myelin that insulates and protects the body's nerves. This has caused a stream of issues for this young man is also fight Stage 4 CKD meaning that his kidneys are moderately or severely damaged and are not working as well as they should to filter waste from his blood. Due to this he has had to get a Central Venous Catheter. People who need urgent dialysis, or who are not suitable for an AV fistula or AV graft, will have a central venous catheter (also known as dialysis line). This flexible, hollow tube is inserted into a large vein in the neck, chest or groin, close to the heart. Also losing mobility and becoming wheelchair dependent, with lack of blood flow it has caused other issues and is still ongoing. While he is now home, we still have a long road to recovery. Thank you. #prayforsmay
