Supporting Stacey Sunday

Reno, NV

Story

Hi friends and family of Stacey Sunday! We are starting this page to help organize some support and respite for Stacey as she continues to battle some scary health issues. After suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in June 2023, Stacey was diagnosed with Long QT Syndrome, a chronic heart condition that affects the heart's electrical system and rhythm. Since this initial 10-day stay in the hospital, she has been navigating numerous medications, specialists, diagnostic tests and side effects from this health episode. Unfortunately, some undiagnosed issues are continuing to cause health problems and scares, and Stacey will be heading to Stanford in a few weeks for a consult with a top specialist. Until then, we are inviting you to help Stacey (and Steve!) with some meals and a couple of chores at their house. If you have additional questions about helping out or want to coordinate anything with me directly, please text or call me at 775-846-0314. Thank you for joining the support train! Emily MacMillan

Special Notes

Meals: if you would like to sign up to deliver a meal, here are some dietary restrictions and preferences. Stacey cannot have any gluten or dairy. She loves asian food and salads (with shrimp, chicken, steak or salmon as a protein). Other ideas include Mexican dishes (tacos, enchiladas) and chili. Steve doesn't eat many vegetables (no salads for Steve!), likes to focus on proteins like steak or chicken, and would prefer if ingredients like onion and mushrooms were optional. No need to include beverages in your meal planning at this time. If you sign up for a meal, please text Stacey ahead of time to give a heads up about the drop off. Visits: Stacey would love to have you come by for a visit! Please plan to text her a few hours before you were thinking of coming by. She would love some fresh fruit as a snack and enjoys lattes (hot or iced) with either oat milk or almond milk (no regular milk and no soy milk). Chores: One chore that Stacey and Steve could use some help with right now is watering the garden in the backyard. It needs to be watered twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. This would be a great thing to help with in tandem with a meal drop off or visit. If interested, sign up for the "Home Services" option in the calendar. Monetary support: If you can't help out in person and would like to contribute, there is an option on this page to send a Door Dash gift card.
