A helping hand for Ryan and family

WALTON, NY

Story

As many know, we were living in toxic mold for quite awhile. Although the management company attempted to "remediate" the problem, all they really did was cover it up. We pushed through every obstacle and finally, we were in a position to move. Moving itself, with 5 kids, 3 that have disabilities along with my own limitations and disabilities, was another obstacle in itself. Our health improved a great deal. We were doing well in general. On October 24,2024 Ben lost his job. This was our primary source of income. He is searching for jobs, submitting around 100 applications thus far, and going on over a dozen interviews (and counting). He has been approved for unemployment but it's less than a quarter of what he was making. Our current income is enough to cover the costs of our shelter, electric/gas, water, and internet. Internet is a necessity for finding employment especially in a rural area. Our phones also don't work without the Internet (WiFi calling). It's not enough to cover the payment on our vehicle ($210 a month and we have 1 vehicle), cat food/liter, groceries or household/hygiene items. As we all know, the cost of groceries has sky rocketed the last few years. Any help received will go first to groceries, then pet needs (we have 4 cats), then vehicle payments, then other bills (such as credit cards we've been working hard to pay off). There are no delivery services in our area (such as door dash, instacart), our local stores do not have online ordering for either pick up or delivery. I do not drive, but I do have 3 stores that are walking distance. I am willing and open to providing any further information requested. Words of encouragement, would be appreciated more than anything. Thanks for reading.
