Story
Hi Friends and Family, As many of you may or may not know, my sweet sister and her family have been struggling quite a bit lately. Kacie was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when she was 16 and has lived with this terrible disease for most of her life. She has typically been able to manage her illness with medications over the years, however, these medications DO NOT come cheap. Kacie was a school teacher and last year she was let go from her teaching position with no notice. She has since struggled to find employment and has even gone back to school to obtain her CNA so she can do what she enjoys in assisting the elderly population. With Kacie's job loss came a loss of medical insurance and as we all know, that isn't cheap. Kacie has been sick for the past month or so with what is a considered an Acute Flare-up where her entire colon is inflamed. She has not eaten in 7 days and has been very ill. Reluctantly she went to the ED on Monday 11/11 and has been admitted to the hospital because of her condition. They are managing her pain levels and trying to figure out the source of her infection but there is currently no ETA of when she will be released. This visit will not be cheap and we are doing what we can for financial help, but as you can all imagine it is stressful for the entire family. They will not ask for anything, so as a sister and with a humble heart, I am asking for any and all assistance you can provide to this beautiful family. Whether that be a homemade meal, a gift certificate, a venmo or even just a load of prayers. We appreciate any and all your love and support during this unfortunate time.
Special Notes
The family has no food allergies. Please reach out via text to her sister Karlea @ 817-266-8528 to arrange delivery, ask questions or inquire about her venmo information if warranted.
