Story
Tammie will be having a translab craniotomy on Monday April 21 in Atlanta at Emory. This surgery will last between 4-6 hours with 2 neurosurgeons performing the procedure. This surgery is intensive and invasive to the brain but necessary to remove the tumor. Tammie will be in ICU for the first night and then to the surgical recovery floor for several days. After surgery she is expected to be extremely dizzy, lose her hearing in the left ear as well as a chance of spinal fluid leak! This is a very serious surgery and a an incredibly tough recovery. Tammie is leaning hard on her faith and is approaching this with a strong positive attitude. More than anything, Tammie will need our prayers, positive thoughts, and emotional support. During this time, we want to surround her and her family with love, food and comfort as she recovers from surgery. There are several ways we can help: PLEASE if you feel led to sign up for a meal, meal gift card delivery or a gift card for gas as she will be making many trips to Atlanta for doctors visits. Meals: We’ve set up a Meal Train for Tammie to ensure she has nutritious and comforting meals during her recovery. Please consider signing up to bring a meal or contribute in any way you can. You can find the link to the Meal Train calendar on this page. Gift Cards: If you would like to help with gift cards for food, groceries, or other essentials, it would be greatly appreciated. You can send them thru this website to be delivered to Tammie. Prayers & Positive Thoughts: More than anything, Tammie will need our prayers, positive thoughts, and emotional support. Please keep her in your hearts as she goes through surgery and recovers in the days ahead. Words of Encouragement: Feel free to send notes, cards, or messages of love and encouragement to lift her spirits. Sometimes, the simple act of knowing that people care can make all the difference. Tammie is strong, but with our support, we can help make this recovery journey a little easier for her. Thank you all for being there during this challenging time. Any act of kindness, big or small, will mean the world to her and her family. Thank you everyone! Your love and support are appreciated tremendously! Deidra Young
