Christe King's Community of Care

Ephrata, PA

Story

Hello friends and family of Tim and Christe and their precious little girls, If you're here that means you've probably just learned of the unexpected breast cancer diagnosis that Christe has received, and hopefully you're here to be part of the answer to our prayers... a loving community of care to walk with them through this long journey! First and foremost, your prayers are requested, Christe and Tim are clinging to Jesus Christ and His faithfulness, and your prayer support means so much to them!!! However, don't stop there, your tangible support will be needed in many ways... probably more than we even know yet at this point!!! Please check back to this page frequently for postings of needs that you can volunteer to help with! Not local? Please consider sending a gift card or donation (their PayPal and Venmo are attached) and take time to reach out on a regular basis to let them know you're thinking of them and praying for them. This is a new platform to me (and the other care coordinators), so please bear with us as we all learn it together. Need help? You can reach out to us the old-fashioned way too: Jan: 717-201-1153 (Christ House coordinator, meals, babysitting schedule, and all other) Beth: 717-538-3342 (any needs) Terry: 717-733-3787 (Coordinator for St Paul's) Jaimee: 201-580-0051 (coordinator for DRAMA Ministry) Thanks for being here, and staying for the journey. With love, Beth King

Special Notes

Please contact a coordinator (Beth or Jan) before signing up for childcare the first time. In order to support Christe's body healing well through her cancer treatment, they prefer meals that avoid red meat, are high in fiber and include some vegetables. No food allergies. Some favorites are rice and/or chicken, but they enjoy a broad variety of dishes from around the world. The girls LOVE fruit, especially berries. Christe's comfort foods are watermelon, Adobo*, Lumpia, Tinolang Manok* (kahit anong sabaw na may gulay)* atbp. Gift cards to local restaurants offering takeout are welcomed, as are cash donations that can be used for takeout or any other needs (Tim and Christe's Venmo and PayPal accounts are linked on this page -- your gift goes directly and immediately to them!) *For those friends who are comfortable with Filipino cooking. Gift Cards Suggestions: Grocery: Aldi, Giant, Walmart, Ebenezer's Restaurant: Three Sisters' Thai, Panera, Texas Roadhouse, Popeyes, Asian Bistro

Ps 32:6-8 "Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Day by day, step by step, He leads you. Surely He is good, and His mercies endure forever!! Love you four, always, Beth

Hi guys. It's been years and years since I saw Tim but wanted to reach out just with a note of support. Don't really have words but I hope you never feel alone through this journey, but loved and supported by the body of Christ, both locally and around the world.

Christe King Thank you for your great encouragement, Jessica! It’s so amazing on how God works in all ends of the world and appreciate the wonders of global body of Christ and the beauty of His community! God is truly a great Father who loves us and provides! 🙌

Romans 8:28-29 "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters." This passage has been a great comfort to me through trials. When we say that God works everything together for our good, we need to know how God defines good. We can see his definition in the very next verse where he says that he has called us to be conformed to the image of his Son. This is the "good" that he's called us to. So when we go through trials we know that they work together to conform us to the image of Christ. This is the goal of every Christian to be made like him. Christe, we know that God is doing a good work in you and through you, and that he is faithful to complete it! You are being prayed for by a community of Brothers and Sisters in Christ all around the world. May the Lord be glorified in you and may His grace rest upon you. We know that He is able to heal you! We trust Him and hope Him alone.

Christe King Amen. Deep waters are opportunities to get to partake with Christ’s sufferings on the cross, and through it we get the glimpse of His heart. Though great trials are hard, there’s no doubt for me to choose this way all over again, if this hard way can lead me to Christ’s heart. ❤️

🖐🏼 first of the messages (just had to put that there to beat Joel to it 😉 iykyk) Heb 6:17-20 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the HOPE set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all l joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. 💖 May HOPE be your anchor today and always, love Beth 💖
