On Friday March 14, my friend J received the phone call that no wife ever wants to get. Her husband had been in an explosion and was seriously injured. Since then he has had numerous surgeries. He remains hospitalized in Chicago and it is expected that the recovery will take several months. In the meantime, J spends as much time as she can driving back and forth between their home in south Lake County to Chicago to visit with her husband. They also have two middle-school aged children who could use support during this difficult time. This has been organized to support J and the rest of the K family (whose names I'm keeping anonymous for their privacy unless given their permission to share). If you could provide gas cards to relieve the burden of transportation costs for J to visit her husband or DoorDash/Uber Eats cards for meals, I know J and the family would greatly appreciate it.
