On Friday, November 1, Derek Harkless, a 17-year-old junior at Westminster High School, was struck by a commercial vehicle while riding his bike to school. He was transported to Shock Trauma, where he was stabilized and treated for head trauma and other impact-related injuries. Derek is now home, beginning his journey of recovery, which includes extensive physical therapy and frequent follow-up appointments at Shock Trauma. Derek will be unable to attend school for at least a month. Whie his family is there supporting him every step of the way, we can support Derek and his family (4 people) by helping with meals.
