Story
Help The Cole Family Stay Braxton Strong The Cole family is facing an unimaginable challenge, and they need our help to support their 10-year-old son, Braxton. A joyful and spirited boy, Braxton has recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that affects soft tissues. This diagnosis is a heavy burden for the entire family, as they prepare for a long, difficult journey ahead—one that will last at least 16 months. The Cole family, with six wonderful children—three daughters and three sons—has always been a source of love and laughter. However, their lives were recently turned upside down not just by Braxton’s diagnosis, but also by a small kitchen fire that prompted major renovations at their home. As father Mitchell began to repair the damage, he was met with the heartbreaking news about Braxton’s health. Initially, Braxton struggled with congestion and severe nosebleeds. After numerous visits to doctors and urgent care facilities, Sierra, his mother, finally took him to Akron Children’s Hospital, where a shocking discovery was made: a mass had invaded his facial structure. The following week has been a whirlwind of tests, procedures, surgery, and the beginning of chemotherapy. Braxton’s only wish is to come home and be with his family. To make that possible, the Cole home needs to be a safe haven, free from contaminants that could jeopardize his health during treatment. This is where we can step in. We are seeking volunteers to help finish the necessary renovations to make their home safe for Braxton. All supplies are on-site; they just need helping hands to ensure that Braxton can return home to the warmth of his family. In addition to physical help, the Coles need support in other ways. With Mitchell having to limit what type of work he can complete in construction during Braxton’s treatment and Sierra dedicating her time to caring for him, financial strain is inevitable. Donations, gift cards, and meal trains will ease their burdens during this critical time. Some treatments will require travel, meaning they will need accommodations that can be sanitized to keep Braxton safe. Please share this message within our community. Let’s rally together to show the Cole family that they are not alone in this fight. Together, we can help them stay Braxton Strong. Your kindness and support will make a world of difference during this challenging journey.
