It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Michael Torres on January 15, 2025, at 7:40 AM. While we mourn his loss on this earth, we find comfort in knowing that heaven has gained an angel. Michael was a proud native of the Central Valley in California before relocating with his family to Lees Summit, Missouri, in 2015. Throughout his life, he faced many medical challenges, but he fought fiercely—just as he did in life to prove a point or have the last word. Those who knew Michael (Mike) remember him for his infectious sense of humor, always ready with an inappropriate joke or a passionate discussion about where to find the best Mexican food (which, in his opinion, was definitely not in Missouri). Mike was a friend, a brother, a son, a father, and a husband. Above all, Mike longed to have a family. We are thankful to Jessica for falling in love with him and his quirky antics, giving him the family and home he always dreamed of. He cared deeply for his family, and his love and devotion to them were unwavering. Mike would always go the extra mile for those he cared about. Though his passing is still a shock to all who loved him, right now, Jessica and the kids need us to come together in support. Mike was an active and dedicated part of their lives, especially in caring for the children. Now it’s our turn to show that same love and support back to Jessica and their children. Mike would expect nothing less from all of us. Let’s honor his memory by surrounding his family with the love and care they deserve.
