Story
Rachelle is a mother and an educator to 3 small children. She has been in an ongoing battle with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Lupus Nephritis, which has led to other health issues, some of which have required surgery. Rachelle was hospitalized, once again, due to another kidney stone and kidney infection. She was also dangerously low on many vitamins and minerals, and was losing blood. She stayed the night for a blood transfusion and received antibiotics, steroids and pain management through an IV. Rachelle was released from the hospital today and is home with her family. Help will be needed with meals for herself and her family while she rests for the weekend. We are asking for community to help her through this difficult time of adjusting and healing. Let's all come together and help our matriarch who is always helping and giving back to our communities. Rachelle often goes out and does community work, even with having lupus and other limitations - it does not stop her from taking care of others and her community. Update: 10/22/2023 Another weekend spent in the Hospital. Rachelle began feeling numbness on the right side of her head that radiated down her right arm. She was then taken to Gila River Emergency Room, where she was treated as she was experiencing a stroke. Rachelle was then transferred to Banner Estrella where she will be cared for by specialists and will have access to more advanced testing that needs to be done. Since being here, doctors have yet to give her some insight as to what's going on. It's been test, after test, long waits for an answer and nothing. It's been a frustrating hospital stay for Rachelle, but she does have the amazing the support of her loved ones and her best friend at her side. Overall, Rachelle is really missing her little ones at home. Who also miss their mommy. Now that we know this is not a stroke. Please pray that this is something that is fixable/ curable. In the meantime, we want to help get her family fed with one meal a day. Maybe more than one meal.
