Story
Hi friends! I am having laproscopic excision surgery for endometriosis on Dec 18. It is a very hard time for many of us right now, but I am going to need some help afterwards, if you have some to give 🩷 I will especially need support the week following surgery with meals and light housechores (think: dishes into the dishwasher, maybe a quick sweep?). This surgery is the gold-standard care for endo, and I am so grateful to be approved for it after a decade of trying every other treatment available. This fall has been particularly difficult as I was (finally) diagnosed with 3 autoimmune disorders, prescribed multiple needed medications, was approved for this surgical care, and have been in and out of doctors offices all over southern Ohio. All while being in graduate school full time and teaching/working. This has led me to withdraw from community in some big ways, which sucks so bad. I am hopeful that surgery will ease some of the severe pain I have had since my teens and I can enter my thirties and my community roles feeling a little (or a lot!) better! In the spirit of getting comfortable asking for help, Emma and I will need it while I'm convalescing. I have a lot of dietary restrictions right now, which makes it difficult to be fed by friends, but I would love to spend time, get takeout, watch tv, or share tea together, too! I've made requests for 'dinner' drop offs, but any meal and any time of day is welcome. I am so so grateful for the support! Thank you <3
Special Notes
Dietary restrictions: NO peanuts, macadamia, coconut, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, soy, citrus, pork, beef, coffee, alcohol, raw alliums, cow milk LESS gluten (sourdough or whole wheat is ok), lactose (butter, A2A2, yogurt, and hard cheeses are ok) I enjoy eating eggs, rice, fish, chicken/turkey, beans, oats, seeds + nuts, potatoes, fruit, and veg :)
