Hello all! It has now been a month since Chris McGuigan suddenly passed away. It took awhile for San to get back on her feet and be able to determine what support would be most helpful. San and Sonny are working hard to find their new normal without Chris. To help ease that burden we are setting up a meal train. Starting with 2 days a week, and possibly increasing once we see how it goes. We are asking for Monday and Thursday to be cooked meals and Saturday is available if you wanted to gift a “takeout” meal. They do have some specific things to AVOID and some suggested meals for food so please keep reading for that. Additionally, and understandably, San is not ready to receive visitors. For the time, meals will be dropped at Holly Graham’s house, which is located in the Cedar Hill School neighborhood, as that will make it easiest for San to grab after school when she picks up Sonny. They are currently still living in Parsippany with San’s mom, so if meals can be dropped before 3:30 that would allow San to grab it at pick-up before traveling back to Parsippany. Finally, we know home cooked meals can be challenging for some to contribute. At this time we are accepting Visa or similar gift cards that will be used towards things the family needs right now! San is so grateful for our community and the support given to her and Sonny. She also wants to be sure nobody feels obligated to sign up. She recognizes everyone has their own families to tend to, and so please only sign up or donate a gift card if that is something you feel is within your families ability right now!! I want to personally send a thank you to everyone who has helped thus far and contributed in all different ways with the various go fund me etc. Every little thing helps ease the load for San and allow her to spend time with Sonny and also work through their new reality. MEAL TIPS: -NO CHEESE (or dairy when possible) -NOTHING CREAMY -NO FISH -avoid almonds **LOVE hot & spicy foods (think flamming hot Cheetos type hot) -Salads and basic protein+side+fruit is preferred -San mostly Eats salads (no cheese but loves croutons) Proteins: Grilled chicken, fried chicken, chicken nuggets, turkey hotdogs, hamburger, steak cooked medium) Sides: SALAD, hummus with pita (lemon beet olive SPICY), Mashed potatoes, chips, corn, broccoli, avocado, garlic/italian bread, olives Fruit: All fruit! Some meal suggestions: -Salad (with croutons) & Italian dressing -Chicken pot pie -spaghetti & meatballs -chicken/steak fajitas -chicken/steak quesadillas -beef nachos -pizza -breakfast for dinner (waffle/panckes/french toast/scrambled eggs/ bacon/sausage) -samosas -chicken tikka Favorite restaurants: -Ridge Pizza -Figaro -Ling Ling -Chipotle -Panera -Bernard’s Cafe -Penguin Ice Cream
