On February 1, 2024, Maggie, of Trussville AL, fell sick while attending school in Rochester, NY. Maggie entered a coma on February 1st, due to meningitis, and remains in that state. The team at Strong Memorial in New York took excellent care of Maggie until the end of August 2024, where she was able to return to Birmingham, Alabama spending some time at Select Specialty at Brookwood Hospital. She moved to Spain Rehab on Friday, September 20, 2024. And on September 21, 2024, developed some additional complication sending Maggie to the NeuroICU at UAB in Birmingham, where she will remain until her return home in Trussville, AL. On Saturday, 12/14/24, Maggie will return to her home in Trussville. She no longer qualifies for hospital stays, and has not been accepted to brain trauma centers. The purpose of this page is to support her parents, Nick & Lisa, and siblings while they adapt to having Maggie at home.
