Story
Joey has always tried to help anyone he could. In 2022 he started noticing he was having fasciculations and then muscle cramps. In 2023 Joey noticed he was losing strength in his left arm. In July 2023 his primary care noticed his lung was also partially collapsed. That was the beginning of many Drs, testing, physical therapy and finally spinal surgery in January 2024. The surgery didn’t work so on to more testing. In February 2024 after an EMG, he was told he has ALS, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) which is progressive, fatal and has no cure. He is no longer able to work and requires help for most tasks. He has lost almost all use of both arm/hands/shoulders. His wife is his primary caregiver, hand feeding him, washing him and doing all the things he needs help with. She also bakes out of the home to try to make up some of the income. Top needs currently is gas or groceries cards.
Special Notes
There are no food allergies but he doesn’t like raw onions.
