Like so many others in Western North Carolina , the Nalyor family’s life took a radical turn on September 27, 2024 when Hurricane Helene ravaged their homes and property . It replaced 35 years of perennials and beautiful landscaping with several feet of mud , it destroyed 80 -90% of their worldly possessions , including all the usual sentimental keepsakes and some treasured family photos . Joan , Andre, their son Ryan and daughter Megan have been blessed with many friends , family and volunteers from around the country that have been working side by side with them to dig out and re-build their homes. Many volunteers have over time helped set up an outside kitchen and have been providing delicious home cooked meals for the Naylors and their many volunteers over the last 40 + days . This website is an attempt to keep this kitchen open ! I am hoping that people will be able to sign up where they can to help with a meal and fill the calendar with yummy food to keep the volunteers and the family’s bellies full and the good loving vibes coming to keep them supported while they rebuild .
