I’m my reposting my friend Shannon’s story here to explain some of what has happened in regard to her husbands health situation. “Hi, my name is Shannon, and I am reaching out on behalf of my husband, Dana Sciandra, the most loving and devoted father to our two young children, ages 4 and 7. To our kids, Dana isn’t just their dad—he’s their Batman, their hero. This holiday season brought an unexpected and life-altering challenge to our family. Dana suffered two strokes that left us shaken and terrified. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with diabetes—a diagnosis that will require a complete lifestyle overhaul to protect him from future health complications. While Dana is on the path to recovery, the journey is far from over. He continues to experience vision and balance issues, which make day-to-day life more difficult, but his determination and love for our family inspire us every single day. Dana’s greatest motivation is to get back to playing with our children, laughing and running alongside them like he used to.”
